SALISBURY - Rowan and many other counties in mountain and central North Carolina and South Carolina are under a Tornado Watch until 8pm.
The National Weather Service issued the watch just after 1:30 as a strong storm system makes it way through the mid-Atlantic.
A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for the formation of an isolated tornado. ?Earlier today in Adairsville, Georgia, what is thought to have been a tornado was responsible for one fatality and led to the shut down of Interstate 75.
Stay alert to changing weather conditions throughout Salisbury and Rowan County through the evening.
